Meditation and mindfulness practices in the Theravada Buddhist tradition

Victoria Insight Meditation Society is dedicated to supporting the practice and study of Vipassana or Insight Meditation. Vipassana, or “clear seeing,” is the meditative practice of mindful attention. We seek to cultivate insight, generosity and kindness in order to awaken body, heart and mind and to foster the possibility of freedom from suffering for all.

Our mission is:

• to provide access to the practice and study of the dharma, the Buddha’s teachings.
• to facilitate the growth and sustenance of our sangha, the community of meditators.
• to encourage embodying the dharma in daily life with all its challenges.
