A Contemplation of the Buddha’s teaching on the Four Noble Truths
An Online daylong retreat with Brock BrownSaturday Sept 19, 9:00 – 4:30
On this day we will reflect on the first teaching which the Buddha gave following his enlightenment, also called “Turning the Wheel of Truth”.The retreat will be held online using the Zoom platform. There will be chanting, guided meditations, and periods for silent sitting meditation, walking meditation or mindful household activities. Brock will give a dharma talk in the afternoon. This daylong is suitable for beginner or experienced meditators.
Registration for this daylong will begin on August 24th. If you are new to Zoom, Victoria IMS will offer assistance.
Brock Brown is a founding member and Chair of the Victoria Insight Meditation Society where he teaches and leads meditation retreats. He has been dedicated to the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings in the Theravada tradition for the past 27 years, and is inspired by the Thai Forest tradition. He is a graduate of the Spirit Rock Dedicated Practitioners Program and the Community Dharma Leader Program and completed the Birken Forest Monastery Upasika program. Brock enjoys studying the suttas and making them relevant to our everyday lives.
