A Weekend of Meditation focusing on Peace and Joy – everybody’s New Year’s Resolution.
Let’s take these two days to get in touch with and deepen into what brings our hearts alive; making conscious more meaning and value in our lives.
The first day – Saturday – we’ll employ some well known and effective tools that release us from our tangles and struggles, subsiding the tension and drama inside our hearts/minds. The second day – Sunday – we’ll delve more deeply into ways to usher in to our awareness the sacred, the valuable, the meaningful, once there is some space in our hearts, and a malleable enough mind to follow our guidance.
Heather Martin, a resident of Salt Spring Island, has a long association with the Victoria Insight Meditation Society. Heather teaches classes and leads retreats in Canada and the US. Her early dharma influence was under the guidance of S.N. Goenka, and she has since been influenced by both Burmese and Thai streams of Theravada, most recently studying with U Tejaniya of Burma. Heather’s approach to life and her style of teaching for the past 15 years is led by her heart – warm and compassionate. She is curious, practical, has a ready laugh and is a great communicator.
