Ajahn Pasanno is the Guiding Elder of Abhayagiri Forest Monastery in Redwood, California.
He served as co-abbot of Abhayagiri with Ajahn Amaro for 13 years and as sole abbot for 8 years. Prior to his time in California, Ajahn Pasanno resided in Thailand for 24 years. He was an early resident and then abbot of the International Forest Monastery, a monastery for westerners, established by Ajahn Chah. In the spring of 2018, Ajahn Pasanno stepped back from his role of abbot.  He is currently on silent winter retreat at Birken Forest Monastery near Kamloops, BC.
